Phone gets hot or the scan stutters

What you see

The phone feels warm, the preview lags, or iOS shows a temperature warning.

Why it happens

Scanning uses the camera, LiDAR and processor all at once. When the phone gets hot, iOS slows it down to protect it.

How to fix

1. Take the case off and keep the phone out of direct sun.
2. Scan in shorter passes and let the phone cool down in between.
3. Close other apps running in the background.
