Requirements

Reporting a problem

The more of this you can include, the faster it gets fixed:

  1. Device model and iOS version.
  2. Puracam version (shown in Settings).
  3. What you were scanning — an object, a room, indoors or outdoors.
  4. What happened, and what you expected instead.
  5. A screenshot or a screen recording, if the problem is visual.

Scanning

Parts of my scan have holes

The most common cause is the surface itself. LiDAR measures reflected infrared light, and some surfaces return almost none of it: glass, mirrors, polished metal, water and very dark matte materials. Where the sensor gets no reliable depth, no geometry can be built — the data was never captured, so no amount of processing recovers it.

What helps: scan those areas from several angles and closer in, keep within about four metres of the surface, and avoid strong direct sunlight, which drowns out the sensor.

The scan looks wavy or the walls are not flat

Move slowly and steadily, and try to return to a previously scanned area occasionally so tracking can re-anchor. Fast turns and long straight sweeps without overlap allow small tracking errors to accumulate.

The texture looks blurry or doubled

This usually means the camera moved quickly during capture, or the same surface was captured from very different angles. Slower movement and even lighting give the cleanest texture.

Processing takes a long time

Processing time scales with the size of the capture and the quality preset. Choosing a faster preset, or scanning a smaller area, reduces it considerably. Keep the app in the foreground while it works.

Exporting

Scans export as OBJ, GLB or USDZ. Which to pick:

FormatBest for
USDZQuick Look on Apple devices, AR previews, sharing with iPhone users
GLBSingle-file transfer, web viewers, Blender, Unity, Unreal
OBJWidest compatibility with CAD and older 3D tools

Exported files go through the standard iOS share sheet, so you can send them to Files, AirDrop them to a Mac, or open them in another app.

Subscriptions

Managing or cancelling

Subscriptions are handled by Apple, not inside Puracam. Open Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device to change or cancel one. Cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps access until the end of the period you paid for.

Restoring a purchase

On a new device, or after reinstalling, use Restore Purchases on the Pro screen while signed in with the same Apple Account used to subscribe.

Refunds

Refunds are issued by Apple, not by me. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Privacy

Scans stay on your device and are never uploaded. Anonymous usage analytics can be turned off in Settings → Share usage data. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my data?

Delete individual scans in the library, or delete the app to remove everything at once. There is no server copy to request deletion of.
