Which export format should I use?
Open the scan's Share screen, tap Export a file, then pick the format that fits where the model is going. Without Pro you can export OBJ; scans made with your free Object scans can use every format.
Steps
- OBJ: works in most 3D and CAD software.
- GLB or glTF: for websites and game engines. GLB is a single file.
- USDZ: for AR Quick Look on iPhone and iPad.
- FBX: for Maya, 3ds Max, Unity or Unreal. DAE (Collada) moves models between 3D tools.
- STL or 3MF: for 3D printing. They keep the shape only, no color. To 3D print an object, use Print in 3D on the Share screen instead. It makes the model watertight.
- PLY: for MeshLab, CloudCompare and research. DXF: for AutoCAD, shape only.
- Floor plans: open the scan, tap Floor plan, then the export button. PDF and PNG are free; SVG, DXF, CSV and JSON need Pro.
