Floor plan measurements look off

What you see

A wall length or room size on the plan doesn't match what you measured with a tape.

Why it happens

Walls on the plan are drawn with thickness, and the length shown runs along the outside edge of the wall, so it's longer than the inside of the room. The scan can also drift a little in big rooms, or where a wall wasn't seen clearly.

How to fix

1. Open the scan, tap Floor plan, tap Select, then tap the wall and open the inspector. Length is the outside edge; compare your tape with the Inside value.
2. To check other distances, tap Measure on the plan, or use Measure in the 3D view.
3. If you know the real length, type it into Length to correct the wall. Keep start or Keep end sets which end stays put.
4. Next time, walk along every wall at chest height so each one is seen clearly.
